Mojave Desert Inspiration // The Green Building Brooklyn

This lovely inspiration came from the newly established design company, Starling on Bond.  Quin Johnson, lead designer, wanted to elicit the natural feel of the Mojave Desert, while still appealing to a Brooklyn aesthetic.  She created a handmade teepee as the lounge area, with some gorgeous throw rugs from Patina rentals.  The best part, is she incorporated this gorgeous copper fire pit, to enhance the feel of the natural elements that we sometimes feel like we miss out on here in the city.  If you can't go to the desert, bring the desert to you!  She loved the idea of having pops of turquoise, to give a little bit of a Southwest vibe, and I love how she wrapped raw pieces of the stone in leather, as another way to give that hand crafted and natural feel.  The Green Building itself has been working on some great new elements, and transformed their garden area into a modern and clean respite.  The wooden walls, and desert grass make for a gorgeous backdrop, and really ties the shoot together!

Miriam+Tim // City Hall

These two sweet lovebirds, came to me as they were planning their wedding, and I knew we would hit it off, as they were very open and obviously excited about working with me.  I love when a couple has taken the time to get to know my work, and can tell that we are a good match for working together.  They were so gracious and sweet and that goes such a long way, when you know there are so many options available these days.  It's truly an honor to be able to work with people who are kind and excited to be a part of the creative process, and I can't thank these two enough for being so easy to work with! We had a really lovely day, while I captured this intimate moment between the two of them at City Hall, and continued our way to some nearby locations for some lovely portraits.  How gorgeous is Miriam's porcelain skin, highlighted by the ever talented Morgan Gates, who Miriam raved about!  I knew they were nervous about being photographed, but soon they got into the groove and we were on our merry way!  I love that amazing red installation that served as the perfect backdrop to Miriam's red shoes and bouquet that Tim so kind put together for her!  We also made our way to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge for some classic moments between the two of them.

Congrats!
