Masha+Colin Styled Engagement Shoot
Check out this gorgeous styled engagement shoot that some lovely ladies and I put together for Masha and Colin! We were thrilled to hear about their engagement, so we put together a shoot that really shows off their personal style, and helps set the tone for what is to come for their spring wedding in California! Together we created a specialty cocktail to help them celebrate and enjoy their evening in the garden! I had the great pleasure of working with some of the loveliest people I know, and I'm so honored to be a part of this lovely little shoot we did in Brooklyn!
Cheers!

Triplets
A friend of mine who also lives here in NY was just telling me that she is having some moments of nostalgia for Los Angeles. I have to say, I am always nostalgic for California. I was born and raised there. I grew up on a farm, and ran wild in places that only seem to exist in my imagination at this point, as I am surrounded by the heat of this concrete jungle that we call NYC. Something that I really love about California, is the latin influence. The mayor of Los Angeles is Mexican, the Mexican food is unparalleled, and the the whole culture of Salvi, Guatmalan, and Mexican, skater/punk kids totally fascinates me. My mother is from Guatemala, my father is of German/Irish descent, so I'm never quite one or the other, somewhere in between Latina and white girl. Regardless, I feel very connected in latin culture, since I lived in L.A. for so long, and these are my peeps! I am a child of the 80's and I never saw a Mexican kid ride a skateboard around my hood. So much of the media portrayal of Mexicans/Guatemalans/Salvadoreans, was about gang violence, working class roles, and any other lower denomination of the social ladder. I think that's what makes me feel so psyched to see latin skater kids sort of walking to the beat of their own drum. I photographed these kids while I was in L.A., and these three beauties are triplets, all from the same amazing womb! Loving them, and representin' Mexican style. Happy Summer!

Fiona+Kevin
This has been an amazing summer, and I'm really lucky to have worked with such different couples from all walks. As a photographer, it's my job to bring out the best in every situation, and to find the best way to document the couples day. This day in particular had a limited location set, but it somehow ended up being a great way to work. I'm used to running around from one place to another, and this day really all took place in their back yard, and it still has so much variety. I loved working with Fiona and Kevin because their family was such a big part of their day. Everyone really pulled together to prepare for the event, including some traditional dishes from their homeland of Trinidad. It's nice to see how each couple does things differently, and this wedding was really modest in it's approach, but still had such a beautiful flair of color, celebration, and culture!

Naturally Delicious
What a beautiful weekend it's turned out to be! I would like to share a few images from the other nights event hosted by Loren Michelle and her lovely associates of Naturally Delicious. I know many of you are familiar with their brand and services, but going to to their space was a real treat. The garden is a great place to host events, and they did such a great job pulling together the event even in this heat wave. The food and cocktails served up were amazingly refreshing, and thank goodness for the fresh mint lemonade. I loved the chilled cucumber soup, and the watermelon, feta, and cucumber skewers are so up my ally!! Nice job ladies and gents! Thank you so much, and I look forward to seeing you all again!

Sugar Flower Cake Shop Event
Last nights event kicked off the opening of Castle and Pierponts new space at 164 Ludlow Street, hosted by Jen Kim Made and Sugar and Flower Cake Shop. Catering was provided by Denton Events, whose decorative touch with the garlic scapes was a personal favorite. Lindsey Jones set up a makeup booth and made up some of the lovely ladies at the event. It was a nice chance to run into some old friends as well as make new ones.

Wild Horses
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting my friend upstate who invited me to go horse back ridding, and gardening, and all things that us city kids need to do on occasion to get a little country side relaxation. It was such a treat because I haven't been around horses much since I left home in Santa Ynez, where they were pretty much everywhere you looked. Now I live a city life and really miss those days of sunshine and nature adventures. This was the perfect mix of outdoors, hanging with some kids, as well as a newborn horse, which was one of the best parts! That little guys name is Freckle and he took a liking to me, so I had to get some shots of his fresh little face. Between, the horse, the kids, and the dog, I really got to kick off my shoes and get my relax on, while also getting to shoot some really nice pics of my trip!
P.S. Be sure to check out my friends event space located in the heart of Manhattan if you are looking for a great place to throw a party, have a wedding, or whatever else you can dream up!
